Antennas
Omni-Directional
Antennas
SAT offers a variety of omni-directional
antennas over virtually any frequency range and polarization and can
supply custom-built antennas.
Directional Antenna Systems
SAT offers a variety of directional and
direction finding antennas over virtually any frequency range and can supply custom-built
solutions. The accuracy of any DF system depends strongly on the local terrain, nearby
metallic structures, and any buildings that would cause blockage or multi-path reception.
Adcock
Antenna Array (20 MHz – 1 GHz)
Direction-Finding and Omni-directional functions from
20 MHz to 1 GHz are available with an Adcock Array. This type of DF is rapid and accurate,
providing an azimuth bearing in a fraction of a second.
Two Adcock antenna array options are available,
monopole (for mobile applications) on the left, and dipole (tower mounted for fixed
or transportable systems) on the right.
Antenna
Array (2 MHz – 3 GHz)
Omni-directional and Direction-Finding functions
from 2 MHz to 3 GHz are available with a compact antenna array that can be mounted
onto the surface of any land, sea or air vehicle.
Moving Dish Solutions
A general purpose directional solution for the
highest frequencies is to mount a dish and antenna on a mechanical positioner. A variety
of dish and positioner components can be optimized for the requirements of a specific
system. The positioner may be azimuth only, or may be an azimuth and elevation positioner.
The SAT DF dish systems
can receive Horizontal and Vertical linear polarizations, as well as RHCP and LHCP.
Log
Periodic Antenna and Automatic Rotator
SigMon software provides for automated
control of an Azimuth Antenna Rotator that can support a wide variety of directional
antennas such as horizontally mounted Log Periodic antennas.
Radomes
SAT can protect any antennas or other equipment
from extreme environmental conditions with an appropriately sized radome.
RF
Switch Assembly
An optional RF Switch Assembly consists of a rack-mounted
enclosure containing all switching modules, amplifiers, filters, splitters and combiners.
A switch assembly is controlled by the site PC, and can be used to cycle through multiple
antenna inputs, and/or to connect one or more instruments to an antenna. SAT can provide
switch matrices of any size and complexity required.
