Multitasking Monitoring Plans
SigMon allows users to time share between multiple tasks in multiple bands, using a single set of equipment for a broad range of needs. Because the system is multi-tasking, monitoring plans can consist of multiple measurements. For example, the system can timeshare between spectral occupancy in cellular and paging bands, signal logging in public safety bands, and carrier measurements in the FM broadcast band. Stored traces and reports can be viewed without interrupting scheduled measurements.
Users may continue to make independent interactive measurements while monitoring plans are running.
Alarms
Alarm status may be monitored in real time in a dynamically updated Alarm Viewer. Users may select an alarm in the list and request an archive trace view of all the traces that caused that alarm. Alarms can be used to capture intermittent events such as interfering or illegal transmissions. When an alarm occurs, any of the following alarm actions can be triggered:
- Traces can be saved to disk for later analysis.
- The direction of the signal can be determined.
- The signal can be demodulated and recorded for later listening.
- An email containing the alarm information can be sent to a person or a pager system.
