Satellite Transponder Communications Simulator

Satellite operators use SAT Corporation's Satellite Transponder Communication Simulators to replicate the RF performance of specific satellite communication channels. SAT uses an off-the-shelf Graphical User Interface and controller that interfaces with the satellite flight hardware. SAT mounts the flight hardware into a standard 19” rack assembly that is designed for use in a laboratory environment.  SAT manages the entire process including simulator design, development, integration, installation, and test. The Satellite Transponder Communication Simulator is designed to be used over the lifetime of the satellite by the satellite operator as a test tool and by their customer as a communications network validation aid.

The satellite operator can access and control the flight hardware through a Windows Graphical User Interface, which is tailored to the customer's needs.

Multiple Test Injection and monitoring points designed into the system allow the operator to investigate the RF signal as it passes through the various transponder components.

SAT has delivered Communications Simulators for C, Ku, and Ka-Band satellites. These simulators are tested prior to shipment to verify performance including Gain Transfer, Frequency Response, Group Delay, C/3IM, spurious, narrow-band out-of-band, translation frequency, noise figure and VSWR.

SAT has delivered simulators after integrating and testing Input MUX filters, Low Noise Amplifiers, Receivers, Downconverters, Lineraized Channel Amplifiers, Traveling Wavetube Amplifiers, Electronic Power Control systems, and Output MUX filters.

SAT has experience creating and testing software control systems for analog and digitally controlled flight hardware.
